Strawberry Mango Smoothie: A Refreshing, Nutritious Beverage for a Hot Day!

I made this smoothie recently after a super awesome bike ride with the man. We rode up in Irish hills, where there are often more rocks than grains of dirt (you think I’m joking). But it was such a hot day.

A local organization called the Central Coast Concerned Mountain Bikers (or CCCMB) has opened up a ton of trail up there, and we are loving it. We rode up to a little pond that actually sticks around all year, which is super rare around here.

I went a little faster than I normally do (Strava says so), and near the end all I could think about was making this smoothie.

It was so simple to make, and the flavor is fantastic. It’s just a bit tart from the yogurt, with no need for any added sweetener.

The almond butter gives it just the right amount of unique flavor that makes it addicting. Really, you’ve got to try this. The perfect smoothie to beat the heat, that’s nutrient-packed and so refreshing after a good workout.

I’m making another one today, as soon as I can get my hands on some more strawberries. Otherwise, I might melt.

Strawberry Mango Smoothie

Description

A refreshing smoothie recipe perfect for a day when you need some nutritious refreshment!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup chopped strawberries*
  • 1 cup chopped mango*
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt (can sub dairy-free)
  • 1/4 cup almond milk, plus more if needed
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter

Instructions

  1. Add all the ingredients to a blender in the order that they appear. Blend until smooth.

Notes

*Frozen fruit is definitely okay to use here. I used frozen mango, and it makes the smoothie cold without needing to add ice. If you use all fresh fruit, you may want to add some ice to make it cold enough.
