Ingredients
1cupsoftened butter(2 sticks)
2/3cuppacked brown sugar
2/3cupwhite sugar
2eggs
Juice of half a large orange
Zest of a large orangedivided
2 1/4cupsflour
3/4cupunsweetened cocoa powder
1tspbaking soda
3/4tspsalt
1cupmini chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugars until fluffy and lighter in color.
Add the eggs, orange juice, and 1 teaspoon of the zest to the butter and sugar mixture. Stir to combine.
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, stirring to combine. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet, leaving room between each cookie. Flatten the dough balls just a bit and sprinkle some of the remaining orange zest over the cookies.
Bake for 9-11 minutes. Remove to cooling racks to cool completely.
