Decadent Cinnamon and Orange Cream Dessert
Juice and zest of 1 orange
pinch of salt
heavy whipping cream
creme fraiche, cream cheese, or yogurt
Chocolate sprinkles or crumbled cookies for the topping
Crush the cardamom pod in a mortar, remove the outer covering, and thoroughly grind the seeds as fine as possible with the pestle.
Whisk the egg whites with salt and sugar until stiff peaks form. In a separate bowl, whip the cream until stiff. Set aside.
In a large bowl, mix the yogurt, creme fraiche or curd cheese with the orange juice, zest, cardamom and cinnamon.
Gently fold in the stiff egg whites and the whipped cream, using a rubber spatula.
Fill into individual jars or a large serving bowl, and refrigerate until ready to serve.
