Ingredients
  • 2cups rawunsalted nuts – almonds, pecans, hazelnuts…
  • 1teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2teaspoon coarse sea salt
  • 2teaspoons olive oil
  • 1/4teaspoon Tabasco or hot pepper sauce
Instructions
  1. In a heavy, dry skillet toast the nuts over medium heat. Stir constantly until fragrant, 3 – 5 minutes. Remove from heat and transfer to a medium mixing bowl.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the cumin, garlic, cayenne pepper and sea salt.
  3. Heat the skillet to medium high then add the oil. When the oil is hot, add in the spices and stir to heat through, 30 – 45 seconds. Add in the almonds and stir well to coat thoroughly. Add in the Tabasco, stirring well until the nuts are warm and the spices distributed evenly.
  4. Remove from the pan and spread out on a plate to cool.
  5. Package or serve when cool.
