Ingredients
For the cake:
  • 2cups sugar
  • 1 3/4cups all purpose flour
  • 3/4cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2teaspoons baking soda
  • 1teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1cup milk,
  • 1/2cup vegetable oil
  • 2teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1cup boiling water
For the whipped cream filling:
  • 1cup whipping cream
  • 1/4cup Powdered sugar
  • 1teaspoon vanilla
For the chocolate frosting:
  • 1/2cup butter(1 stick)
  • 2/3cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3cups Powdered sugar
  • 1/3cup milk,
  • 1teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Chocolate Cake:
  1. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans.
  2. Stir together sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Beat on medium speed with an electric mixer for 2 minutes. Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin). Pour batter into prepared pans.
  3. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes, then remove from pans to wire racks. Cool completely. Fill between the layers with sweetened whipped cream, and frost the top and sides with “perfectly chocolate” chocolate frosting.
Whipped Cream Filling:
  1. Whip the cream to form loose peaks, add the sugar and vanilla, and continue to beat until thickened. Refrigerate until ready to use.
Perfectly Chocolate Chocolate Frosting:
  1. Melt the butter. Stir in the cocoa powder. Alternately add powdered sugar and milk, beating to spreading consistency. Add a small amount of additional milk, if needed. Stir in the vanilla.
