The Best Chai Latte

Ingredients

whole cardamom pods

milk

Whole cloves

fennel seed

teaspoon
aniseed

small or 1/2 stick of cinnamon
1/2
teaspoon
chopped fresh ginger
pure vanilla extract
to taste (optional)

sugar or honey
to taste

black tea leaves
(e.g. Assam)
Instructions
Remove the cardamom seeds from the pods and discard the pods.
Place all ingredients except the tea leaves in a pot over medium-high heat, and stir to combine. Stirring constantly, bring to a boil.
Stir in the tea, cover with a lid, remove from heat and infuse for 10 minutes.
Filter out the tea and spices and pour into mugs. Serve immediately.
