  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 2 cups half-and-half
  • 12 ounces white chocolate, chopped*
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt


  1. Heat the whole milk and half-and-half in a medium saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the milk reaches a gentle simmer, about 5 minutes.
  2. Whisk in the white chocolate, vanilla extract, and salt. Continue whisking constantly until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth, another 5 minutes.
  3. Remove the pan from the heat and distribute between mugs. Serve while still warm, topped with whipped cream and white chocolate shavings if you like.


If using white chocolate chips, chopping is not necessary.
