For daily food preservation tasks, a small countertop vacuum sealer can process foods quickly and easily.
And while the Gourmia GVS435 comes in a compact size, it has plenty of power to steadily package dry goods, deli foods, fresh produce, and to take advantage of bulk purchases and sales.
With eight different functions, it can process items automatically or be manually operated for greater control when needed.

Here’s what we’re covering in this review:
Operational Settings
The Gourmia features eight different food setting to ensure you achieve the perfect pressure level and an airtight closure every time.
Once the filled pouch is laid on the heat bar, close the lid until it locks in place then make your selections.
The ‘Vacuum and Seal’ setting is the automatic function that exhausts air to the ideal pressure and then heat locks the bag. Pressing this button a second time will pause the process at any time.
‘Pulse’ is used to manually exhaust air in small increments to regulate pressure. Press once to begin air extraction, and a second time to stop the process. Then use the ‘Manual Seal’ function to close the bag.
‘Moist’ and ‘Dry’ are the two food settings. ‘Dry’ is for foods without moisture and has a shorter sealing time, while the ‘Moist’ setting is used for foods with a high moisture content. ‘Moist’ also provides a longer time on the heat bar to ensure a secure closure.
‘Normal’ and ‘Gentle’ are used to control the vacuum pressure level. ‘Normal’ is the default setting and is used for items that require a higher pressure level while ‘Gentle’ is used for soft and delicate items to prevent crushing.
‘Manual Seal’ is used when you want to close a bag without exhausting any air, or to stop the suction process and immediately seal the pouch.
The ‘Canister’ setting is used with a hose attached to the external hose port and is used to exhaust air from canisters, jar lids, and wine stoppers.
And ‘Stop’ is used to power down the machine.
Construction and Details
The Gourmia features a powerful piston pump that depressurizes at a high capacity of 12 liters per minute for fast processing cycles. But that doesn’t mean it’s loud – it’s also been engineered to reduce noise, ensuring quiet operation.
The housing unit is constructed of a tough polymer with a durable stainless steel lid and is easily cleaned with a soft, damp cloth.
The cover-lock buttons are located on each end of the lid and are pressed simultaneously to release the lid once processing is complete.
When not in use the power cord stores underneath the unit – wrap it around the two large cleats to keep it neatly in place.
All the settings are clearly laid out on the topside control panel and are selected with soft-touch buttons. And a bright LED light illuminates each selection for easy status monitoring.
The Gourmia measures approximately 14 x 6 x 3 inches, weighs 4.5 pounds, can take extra-large bags up to 15 inches in width, and comes with a 1-year warranty to be free of defects.

Summary
This is a decent quality little vacuum sealer. It only has a one year warranty unlike the two-year warrant for the Weston Pro-2300 or the five-year warranty of the FoodSaver V4440. Also, it doesn't have a built in bag cutting tool but instead come equipped with a small knife which is a bit "funky."

They are a good product I have an older model that works fine BUT try and buy a gasket for one. I wrote the company and they say they do not offer any parts. Guess I will be buying a new one but it will be a different brand.
