For those who want commercial grade performance to process large batches of food, but without the bulk of a large chamber vacuum sealer, the Weston Pro-2300 fits the bill.

Commercial grade in construction, this heavy-duty performer has all the features needed to process large volumes of bulk foods, dry goods, deli items, fresh produce, and game – and still fits easily on the countertop.

It’s also one of the quietest models available and boasts an extra-wide heat bar to accommodate the largest of pouches.

In this review, we’re having a closer look at the following:

Operational Settings

Larger than many countertop models, the Weston Pro still provides all the convenience of compact models and is simple to operate with either ‘Automatic’ or ‘Manual’ mode.

For either operation, the open end of the pouch is first loaded along the heat bar, then the lid is closed and needs to be pressed down firmly to ensure a secure closure.

Bags of fresh veggies including corn on the cob, asparagu, and sliced bell pepper get bagged by the Weston Pro-2300.

For ‘Automatic’ mode, press the ‘Start’ button to begin exhausting air, and as soon as the bag begins to collapse, release the lid handle. Once the air has been exhausted to the preset pressure level, the sealing process will initiate – which takes only three seconds to secure the closure. Once finished, the lid will release audibly.

To regulate the amount of pressure when processing soft and delicate foods, align the pouch and start as for the auto setting. Once the desired amount of air has been removed, press the ‘Manual Seal’ button to close the pouch.

Pressing the ‘Stop’ button will halt both vacuuming and sealing processes, and for each selected setting, a blue LED light will illuminate on the control panel.

Allow 10-20 seconds between cycles to allow the unit to cool and avoid overheating.

Construction and Details

The control panel is located on the top rear of the unit and is operated with soft-touch digital buttons.

Bright, LED lights illuminate each setting on the control panel for easy monitoring as pouches are processed, and a clear acrylic lid makes it easy to ensure bags are properly aligned on the heat bar.

Designed for continuous processing, a powerful double-piston pump delivers 28Hg of vacuum pressure and is fan-cooled for steady, repetitive use.

At 15 inches, the extra-long heat bar can fit all sizes of bags and creates a sturdy 5-millimeter closure to ensure a tight, reliable seal.

The housing unit is made of commercial grade stainless steel for robust durability and is easily cleaned with a soft, damp cloth.

Because the fan runs when the unit is switched on, switching it to ‘Off’ when not in use will help to save energy.

For convenient storage, the power cord detaches and fits tidily into a rear compartment.

As a safety feature, the Pro 2300 is fitted with a thermal overload switch that will automatically shut down the machine should it overheat. When this occurs, open the lid and allow the unit to cool for 20 minutes before resuming operation.

It measures approximately 15.5 x 23 x 9 inches, weighs 22 pounds, can accommodate bags up to 15 inches in width, and comes with a 2-year warranty to be free of defects in materials and workmanship.

  1. Hello
My question is can the Weston Pro-2100, 2300 or 2600 run on 240 without a transformer? I live in Australia and the range here doesn’t look great and also at an exorbitant cost that restricts the bags you can use them with. I’ll need something I can put a whole cow through as I’m looking at killing and butchering it for myself.
    Kind regards
    Luke
