A perfect balance of sweet and tart flavors, this beautifully blended concoction has an amazing lineup of assorted fruits and veggies.
You’ll love the vibrant green color created by whizzing together avocado, kiwi, baby spinach, strawberry, and banana.
And lucky for you, you don’t have to worry about forgetting to freeze any of the produce ahead of time – all of the fruit used here is fresh!
Simply blend together all of the prepped fruit and vegetables, along with some almond milk, honey, and ice cubes.
Divide between two glasses, then blissfully sip away! Even the picky eaters of the family will enjoy the sweet and creamy flavors, without realizing exactly how healthy it is for them!
2. Berry Date
Looking for a little zing to really wake you up in the morning?
Our blueberry date smoothie brings the heat, but it’s perfectly balanced with the other ingredients included in this creamy mix.
Milk, cocoa powder, and dates, as well as frozen blueberries and strawberries, all team up with the warming spices to make a fun combo that will wake up your taste buds and boost your energy level.
Make this recipe when you’re feeling extra sluggish – you’ll be ready to conquer the day in no time at all!
3. Blueberry Orange Banana
If you’d rather pass on carb-heavy blueberry muffins or scones in exchange for something lighter – without losing any of that scrumptious blueberry flavor – you’ll be delighted drinking every sip of this fruity combination!
One serving of this recipe contains segments from a whole orange, a cup of fresh or frozen blueberries, one frozen banana, your choice of milk, and a little agave syrup.
With this fun mashup, you’ll be packing in an extra boost of vitamin C in your diet first thing in the morning, or whenever you could use a little pick me up.
And because you’re blending in whole orange segments, not orange juice, you’ll also enjoy the benefits of some added dietary fiber.
4. Chocolate Banana Breakfast
Chocolate… for breakfast?
Don’t mind if we do!
You’ll love the richness and sweet flavors of this blended beverage, made with a medley of healthy ingredients like cocoa powder, frozen bananas, and plain Greek yogurt.
You also have the option to add a teaspoon of ground flax seeds or chia seeds per serving, for added thickness.

5. Chocolate Banana Kefir
Looking for a morning drink or afternoon snack that isn’t too sweet?
Though a lot of recipes start with a base of fruit juice, which increases the sugar content in a single serving, this chocolate banana smoothie does not contain any juice. It uses plain kefir as the creamy base.
In addition to this gut-healthy ingredient, there are only three other ingredients – so simple!
Frozen banana gives the beverage richness and thickness, raw cacao powder provides a concentrated punch of nutritious minerals and beautiful bitterness, while just a little honey balances the strength of the cacao powder and the tanginess of the kefir, which you can make from scratch.
6. Coconut Chocolate Coffee
If you stick with these 3 C’s to craft the perfect smoothie combo, you’re bound to be successful:
Coconut, chocolate, and coffee!
Skip the plain cup of joe in the morning – this is the buzz you want.
As the base liquid, coconut milk brings both nuttiness and sweetness, and cocoa powder enriches the cold coffee or cold brew with a deep mocha flavor.
Blended together with frozen bananas and ice cubes until smooth and frothy, the final result will put enough pep in your step that you can skip a trip to the cafe.
7. Get Well Green
No one likes the sniffles. But we have something delicious to combat them!
If you’re feeling the first sign of sickness when cold and flu season strikes, you know it’s the right time to blend up our get well green smoothie.
A medicinal medley of orange juice, chia or flax seeds, kale leaves, banana, apple, and mango or pineapple chunks, this recipe is packed with healthy vitamins and minerals. And it’s tasty, too!
The recipe makes two vibrantly green servings – share with another family member who’s feeling a bit unwell, or save it in the fridge for later in the day when you’re ready for your second dose.
8. Icy Avocado
Light and creamy, this icy avocado smoothie is perfect for a light breakfast or afternoon snack.
You’ll feel instantly refreshed with each sip you take of this cooling combination of coconut milk, fresh lime juice, honey, vanilla, avocado, and ice.
The pale green color is a beauty to behold, without any leafy greens in sight – a welcome omission, if you’re not the biggest fan of greens in your drink!
While the tablespoon of hydrolyzed collagen included here is optional, we prefer to include it for a punch of protein.
9. Mixed Berry
A smoothie with a simple ingredient list is a practical option when you’re really in a rush!
When you’re prepped and ready, it’s easy to make this quick drink right before you run out the door.
If berries are at the peak of their sweet ripeness – and you’re hogging freezer space with a horde of bags upon bags of cleaned and prepped berries – this recipe is quick to whizz together in the blender.
Let your favorite berries shine! You can use whatever variety you prefer, or whatever looks best at the farmers market during the summer.
Whether you choose a vibrant combination of strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, or blueberries, or pick a more minimal mix that features just one or two types, you’ll feel refreshed after the very first sip.
10. Orange Creamsicle
This delicious layered delight, a combination of orange and cream, will remind you of childhood summers!
Do you remember that feeling of excitedly waiting for the ice cream truck with all the other neighborhood kids? And of eating incredibly refreshing Creamsicles on hot and sunny summer days after playing outside for hours?
You may be all grown up now, but you can still enjoy the flavors of a Creamsicle in this healthier sippable version.
With two distinct layers, our recipe is even designed to look like a Creamsicle!
You’ll happily giggle with glee as you assemble the sherbet-y orange base topped with a creamy vanilla-flavored mix.
11. Orange Ginger Sunshine
Do you still feel a little tired and sluggish after you wake up in the morning? You need a jumpstart to your day!
Awaken and invigorate your senses with this bright and colorful orange ginger sunshine smoothie.
Named for its brilliantly vibrant golden glow, our recipe features sweet and fresh navel oranges and zingy fresh ginger.
A little honey and vanilla almond milk provide additional sweetness and flavor. You can even make your own batch of homemade almond milk to mix in, if you have the time!
We recommend using your high-powered blender for this one – for the smoothest drink, you’ll want to break down the orange pulp and the fibrous ginger as much as possible.
12. Papaya Ginger
This tropical smoothie is bursting with fresh and fruity flavors you’ll love!
Fresh papaya is a versatile ingredient that can be enjoyed on its own, blended in a drink, made into a sorbet, or dried at home in your food dehydrator.
We love incorporating it in this smoothie with fresh ginger. The sweet and spicy flavor combination is so unique, and the both ingredients offer a long list of superfood health benefits.
Rounding out this recipe, we include milk, yogurt, honey, lime juice, vanilla extract, and ice cubes.
A dash of cinnamon on top right before serving offers a wonderfully aromatic garnish.
13. Peaches ‘N’ Greens
A healthy upgrade from peaches ‘n’ cream, you’ll love all the nutritious wonders presented in our veggie-packed peaches ‘n’ greens beverage!
Strawberries, banana, and peaches form a terrific trio of flavorful fruits that blend seamlessly together with the cruciferous vegetables.
And don’t let the kale leaves turn you off – with all of the other fruity ingredients, it will still taste so sweet and delicious.
One serving of this hearty smoothie is all you need to start your day – all of the healthy fiber and protein from the kale and fats from the Greek yogurt or kefir will keep you feeling fuller longer.
14. Peanut Butter Banana
Peanut butter and banana is one of our favorite flavor combinations in the morning. Who’s with us?
Maybe you love making peanut butter and banana sandwiches, or layering them in a yogurt parfait, or arranging them thoughtfully to create an open-faced breakfast toast, drizzled with honey and sprinkled with cinnamon?
Well, we have one more amazing idea for you – and it’s a practical option for busy, on-the-move mornings:
Our peanut butter banana smoothie!
Instead of adding traditional peanut butter, we use peanut butter powder. It’s less messy than a tub of sticky peanut butter, has less fat and sugar than many types of the traditional jarred stuff, and it blends into smoothies very easily.
Stock your pantry ASAP with powdered peanut butter, so you can make this recipe soon.
15. Pineapple Coconut
If you like pina coladas…
This tropical smoothie will remind you of the popular summery drink, and will have you singing energetically all day long!
Just like its cocktail cousin, you can also enjoy this healthier and spicier version when you’re lounging poolside. Or you could blend one up and start sipping whenever you’re looking for an energizing beverage during a busy day.
Take a sip of paradise with a cooling concoction of pineapple and citrus, combined with a spicy blend of ground turmeric, ginger, and freshly cracked black pepper.
With coconut milk as its base, this smoothie is thick, creamy, and dairy free.

This pretty-in-pink pomegranate drink looks so beautiful in a glass, especially if you sprinkle a few pomegranate seeds on top as a vibrant garnish!

21. Tahini Banana
A fun spin on the classic aforementioned combo of peanut butter and banana, try our rich and creamy tahini banana smoothie, naturally sweetened with dates.
The sesame seed paste combines so well with cinnamon, vanilla, and cashew milk.
You’ll love the harmony of sweet and savory flavors from the dates and tahini, a hint of spice from the cinnamon, and a dreamy texture from the bananas and nut milk.
Make this nutrient-dense drink for an on-the-go breakfast, a liquid lunch, a filling snack, or a late-night guilt-free treat!
You’ll find in most of these recipes that we offer multiple variations, and encourage you to customize the ingredients to better suit your preferred flavor profiles and diet plans.
But take our encouragement to play around with a grain of salt!
You can’t freely customize the ingredients without interrupting either the texture or the flavor – or both! – of a smoothie.
To maintain a balanced drink, be careful to understand your ingredients before you start adding splashes or dashes of this and that.
If you want to alter the type of yogurt you use, understand that Greek yogurt has a lower water content than other styles of yogurt, resulting in a thicker smoothie.
If you want a thinner smoothie, you’ll need to decide exactly what liquid you want to increase in your recipe in order to yield your desired flavor and consistency. You may decide to increase the milk, juice, or ice content – all depending on what you want to achieve.
Do you want more or less texture? Ingredients like chia seeds, hemp seeds, flax seeds, and nut butters are responsible for grit and texture – decide if you want to include them, or eliminate them entirely.
Pretty soon, you’ll be confident when customizing any of our selections with your own unique spins and favorite ingredients.
You may even want to boost the superfood power of your favorite smoothie even more if you toss in a popular superfood add-in or two!
Do you already have a favorite recipe on our list? Do you have any tried-and-true add-ins that you love including in every drink you make? The comment section is wide open, so let’s talk!
